About live wedding painting packages:

LWP FAQ

What is live wedding painting?

Live wedding painting is a unique form of wedding entertainment and keepsake art where I create a custom painting during your wedding day. Guests can watch the artwork come to life throughout the event, and you receive a one-of-a-kind piece that captures a special moment from your celebration.

How does the live wedding painting process work?

I arrive 2-3 hourse before the event begins to set up and sketch the composition. During the wedding, I paint on-site while guests are free to observe. After the event, I typically take the painting back to my studio to complete final details and refinements before delivery. The live portion of the painting process normally takes about 6-8 hours of time and then additional time as needed in the studio.

What moment of the wedding do you paint?

Most couples choose their first dance, ceremony kiss, grand entrance, or a romantic portrait scene. The final composition can also combine elements from multiple moments and reference photos to create the most beautiful finished artwork.

How much of the painting is completed during the wedding?

The composition, background, and much of the painting are completed during the event. Taking the painting back to my studio afterward allows me to add refined details, accurate likenesses, and finishing touches to ensure the highest-quality final piece. In studio your painting will also get a a protective varnish layer to ensure the longevity of your painting.

How long does it take to finish the painting?

Most paintings are completed within 4-12 weeks after the wedding, depending on the size and level of detail. I will provide an estimated delivery timeline when you book.

Can we choose the scene that is painted?

Absolutely. During our planning consultation, we'll discuss your preferred scene, important details, and any special requests to create a painting that reflects your vision.

Can you combine multiple photos or moments into one painting?

Yes. Many couples choose to include elements from different moments, locations, or photographs. I can create a custom composition that brings these memories together in a single artwork.

Can you include family members, pets, or loved ones who couldn't attend?

Yes. With reference photos, I can often incorporate family members, pets, or meaningful figures into the composition in a tasteful and natural way.

What painting sizes do you offer?

I offer several canvas sizes to suit different spaces and budgets. Popular options include:

  • 16" x 20"

  • 18" x 24"

  • 20" x 24"

  • 24" x 30"

What medium do you use?

I primarily work with professional-grade oil paints. Oil paints are prized for their rich color, depth, luminosity, and timeless quality.

When do we get out painting?

Because oil paint dries slowly, it allows for greater detail and refinement in the studio after the wedding. Most paintings are completed within 4–12 weeks after the event, depending on the size and complexity of the artwork.

How much space do you need at the venue?

I typically require a small area approximately 6 ft x 6 ft to accommodate my easel, supplies, and workspace. I'm happy to coordinate with your planner or venue to ensure a smooth setup.

Do you need electricity?

In most cases, no. However, adequate lighting is important, especially for evening receptions. If additional lighting is needed, I will discuss this with you before the wedding.

Will guests be able to watch you paint?

Yes. Many guests enjoy seeing the artwork develop throughout the event. Live painting often becomes an interactive and memorable part of the wedding experience.

Do you travel for weddings?

Yes. I am available for destination weddings and events outside my local area. Travel fees may apply depending on the location.

How far in advance should we book?

Many couples book 6–18 months in advance. Popular wedding dates can fill quickly, so early booking is recommended.

How much does a live wedding painting cost?

Pricing varies based on canvas size, travel requirements, complexity, and package options. Please contact me for a custom quote tailored to your wedding.

What is required to reserve our date?

A signed agreement and a non-refundable retainer are required to secure your wedding date. The remaining balance is typically due before the event.

What happens if our wedding date changes?

If your wedding is postponed and the new date is available, I will do my best to accommodate the change. Specific policies are outlined in the booking agreement.

How is the finished painting delivered?

Completed artwork can be shipped securely or delivered in person when available. All paintings are carefully packaged to ensure safe arrival.

Can we share the painting on social media?

Of course. I love seeing couples share their artwork! I do request permission to feature the painting in my portfolio, website, and social media channels. I will have this outlined in my contract.

How should I care for my oil painting?

To preserve your artwork:

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.

  • Keep the painting away from excessive heat and humidity.

  • Dust gently with a soft, dry cloth.

  • Do not use water or cleaning products on the painted surface.
